Lion Pose and Teeth-Grinding

Posted by Barefoot Yoga on May 8, 2013

I have suffered from TMJ (Temporomandubular Joint) disorder since I was a teenager. My grandmother strongly believes in ox-tail soup as a remedy. But what I have found that really helps is yoga, first in relieving stress so I don’t grind my teeth that often. When I do feel the tension, the Lion pose helps alleviate the pain. This has alleviated the pain in my jaw and headache that comes with teeth-grinding. Also, it saves an ox.

Visit YogaJournal.com for step-by-step directions on the Lion Pose, or Simhasana.
